SEAN F. KANE   

Sean is the Manager of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group.  He has represented clients on transactional matters involving various entertainment, communications and consumer products business segments, such as video games, virtual worlds, computer software, the Internet, music publishing, records, motion picture (feature and independent films) and television production ­and distribution.  He also has considerable experience litigating complex business disputes in federal and state courts at trial, appellate levels and in ADR forums throughout the country.  Prior to founding Drakeford & Kane LLC, Mr. Kane practiced with Hall Dickler, LLP (f/k/a Hall Dickler Kent Goldstein & Wood LLP) from 1998 to 2004.  Mr. Kane is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law, where he is a Co-Chair of the Virtual Worlds and Multiuser Online Games Committee.  He is also a member of the American Arbitration Association IP Panel of Neutrals.  Mr. Kane is a member of the Board of Editors of the LJN publication, Internet Law & Strategy.  He earned his J.D. in 1998 from Fordham University School of Law, and his B.A. in 1995 from Villanova University.  He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern District of New York.

KEVIN A. DRAKEFORD

Kevin began his professional career with the New York County District Attorney’s Office. He then worked as a tax consultant in the Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group of Ernst & Young LLP, one of then “Big Five” professional services firms, before applying his transactional, financial, and accounting skills as a consultant with their Economics & Transfer Pricing Group. He has represented multinational corporations, joint ventures, start-ups, professional practices, small businesses, and exempt organizations in matters involving corporate/business law, community & economic development law, non-profit law, business & strategic planning, capital markets, corporate governance, and, of course, real estate, tax, and international law. Kevin is a graduate of Amherst College (1993) cum laude and Fordham University School of Law (1998).

JESSICA THALER

Jessica has counseled financial institutions and hedge funds in providing lines of credit and term loan facilities, and public and private companies obtaining such financial accommodations, in various industries including, without limitation, sports (major league and minor leagues), media, telecommunications, biopharmaceuticals, automotive industry, treasure hunting, oil and gas, environmental and construction. Jessica has also advised privately and publicly held companies in the preparation and negotiation of merger and acquisition transactions and various securities offerings as well as in their day-to-day business operation through the establishment and organization of real estate investment trusts, limited liability companies, corporations, partnerships and other business entities in connection with various equity investments and strategies, counseling them in finance, lending and mergers and acquisitions transactions as well as employment and labor disputes and agreement negotiation, preparing and filing securities offerings and advising them in not-for-profit law compliance. She is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, on the Membership Committee for the NY State Bar Association as well as many other professional and alumni organizations and committees. She is a graduate of UCLA (1995) cum laude and Fordham University School of Law School (1999).
